News from the Guidance Department:.

• Senior cap and gown pictures will be taken through senior English classes. The schedule is as follows: Tuesday, Jan. 23- Dixon and Gulde, Wednesday, Jan. 24- Barron and Hunt, Thursday, Jan. 25 - Rodgers and make-ups until 1:15

• Hey Seniors, we have several new scholarship opportunities available for you. You can grab a copy of these scholarship applications and find out more info in the Guidance Office, as well as on Gorebs.org. Please check out the following:

Sports News: 

• The Lady Rebel Soccer Team is  playing a lot of soccer here at home in Rebel Stadium this week, starting with a varsity district match vs Pineville Tuesday night at 5:30. Then the JV kick off against St. Fred at 5:30 on Weds. Both Varsity and JV will play Byrd on Friday with kick offs at 5:30 and 7:15.

• Boy’s Soccer will be at home vs. Pineville on tonight as well following the girls game. On Thursday they will host Captain Shreve at 6 PM, and on Saturday they will be competing in the Cannon Cup in Pineville. Students get in free to all soccer home games, bring a jacket and come support these programs!!   

• Big week for basketball this week: Both our girls and boys teams move into their district schedule this week. Tonight, they will host West Ouachita at home. Girls tip off at 5:30 and boys will follow. On Friday we will host the Ouachita Lions, action will also begin at 5:30 and follow the same order. Students get in free to these games as well. Let’s create a home court advantage and pack the gym!

Club and Organization News:

• Si es miembro del club English Latino Leadership Society, debe ir a la página del aula de Google y hacer clic en el enlace para pedir la camiseta de su club. El plazo se ha ampliado hasta el miércoles 10 de enero. Tendremos una reunión del club en la biblioteca inmediatamente después de clases el jueves 11 de enero. If you are a member of the English Latino Leadership Society, you need to go on the google classroom page and click the link to order your club shirt.The deadline has been extended to Wednesday, January 10th. We will have a club meeting in the Library immediately after school on Thursday, January 11th.4

• Join the first FCS meeting of 2024.  We will meet tomorrow, 1/10, in the morning at the New Gym at 7:15 am.  Members please wear your shirts!!

• There’s a Board Game Club meeting tomorrow in the library right after school.

• Attention Juniors interested in applying into the Tusquahoma Chapter of National Honor Society at WMHS. Applications open on January 16th, make sure you check the criteria listed on the webpage prior to completing the application. Criteria for Membership Eligibility are listed on the NHS webpage. Applicants must meet all of the criteria in order to be considered for membership. The application will be posted on the NHS Induction of 2024 Google Classroom. Junior Civitans will have a meeting on Tuesday, January 30th at 3:15 in Mrs. Beach's room (6206). There is a sign-up sheet on our Google Classroom. We plan to have pizza! Deadline to sign up is January 12th.
